A few days ago, I posted something foolish in a thread about France and received a minor warning within ten minutes. While the penalty might have been justified, it was issued by the moderator KLCCK. Since he is one of the few people here I actually respect for being consistently fair, I decided not to cause a scene or complain.
On the other hand, bluecyclist64—who is notorious for being vulgar and aggressive—is currently insulting and swearing at Anthony Nguyen81 in the "Great Columns" thread. He’s calling him a coward who belongs in a hole, sending him private messages, using outdated insults, and trolling him relentlessly.
That post sat there unpunished for 24 hours despite my multiple reports. Now I see it has finally been deleted, yet instead of being suspended, the user is still actively participating in other discussions.
Given that Sugar was also active in that same thread (and both men generally share similar political views), I suspect he may be responsible for this selective enforcement.
If he isn't, then whoever made this decision should be ashamed. If you need a link, I don't have one since it was deleted, but you can certainly find the specific post in your database. The quality of discussion on any heated thread suffers when dissenters are openly labeled as "clerical fascists" or "ultra-right-wing," while blatant verbal abuse goes completely unpunished.
The state of these debates makes it clear that we are missing a moderator like Powerlock to maintain a sense of moderate balance.
