So, I’m a 16-year-old soccer player, and honestly, everything was going totally fine until about a month ago when this weird pain started hitting me right around my kidney area! It’s such a strange sensation because it really flares up whenever I’m sprinting down the field or when I try to really wind up for a powerful kick—you know, those moments where you need that extra explosive swing of the leg? About two weeks back, the pain actually seemed to vanish, which made me think I was in the clear, but then it came roaring back out of nowhere! It’s super unpredictable too, because sometimes it’s on my left side and other times it’s on the right, depending on how things are going that day. Walking is usually no big deal, but the second I start running, there it is again, and one time it was so intense I could barely even get my cleats off because my feet were hurting so much from the discomfort. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Any advice would be amazing...

I’m dealing with that exact same issue... I honestly can't pin down what's causing the pain. On top of that, my collarbone has been acting up too.
One doctor actually told me, "Just stop running."🙄

I find myself dealing with some rather persistent lower abdominal discomfort—it’s quite a nuisance, really—whenever I push myself too hard during sprinting sessions. However, I’ve noticed an interesting pattern! It seems the pain is significantly more manageable, if not entirely absent, when I opt for several shorter bursts of speed rather than one long haul, provided I am diligent about thorough stretching and recovery intervals in between. Interestingly enough, sticking to those longer, steady-state distance runs at a much more leisurely pace also keeps the discomfort at bay. It appears my body simply demands frequent breaks and a very disciplined stretching routine to stay on track. Then I rock😬.

At first, I don't really notice anything wrong when I'm just doing some light jogging or easy movements, but then if I try to push it and sprint a couple of times, man, that pain starts kicking in! And what's really wild is that once it starts, sometimes that ache lingers even during those super basic little things I do around the house—like, you know, just turning over in bed at night—though thankfully it usually fades away by the morning...
