Hey everyone! I’m running into a bit of a situation and could really use some advice. Lately, my skin has been acting up—I'm getting these flaky patches, especially right at the corners of my mouth. It’s spreading to other parts of my face too, where the skin gets super red and starts peeling away. To make matters worse, I’ve noticed these blotchy spots appearing all over my face at the same time. Has anyone else dealt with something similar? Does anyone have any recommendations on how to treat this so I can finally get my skin back to normal?

I’ve started getting these patches on my skin that look almost like ringworm, especially right at the corners of my mouth. My face is also breaking out in this redness where the skin starts peeling away, and at the same time, I'm noticing these blotchy spots all over. Has anyone else gone through something similar? Does anyone have advice on how to treat this so it stops coming back?

I actually dealt with something very similar regarding those types of skin patches. It affected my entire face, specifically the corners of my lips—about the size of a quarter—and even my eyelids. In my case, the culprit turned out to be an allergy to nail polish (though I'm fairly certain that isn't what's causing your issue). Honestly, it was an allergy I had to figure out entirely on my own; doctors kept running tests, giving me shots, and trying everything, but they couldn't pinpoint the cause. Until I identified the trigger, creams only provided temporary relief while I was actually using them. Since we are talking about your face, you absolutely need to see a top-tier dermatologist. I am confident you'll get to the bottom of this quickly if you go as soon as possible. As a starting point, try gradually cutting back on your cosmetics—begin by eliminating whatever new products you've introduced to your routine lately. Good luck.

Taylor Martin6, if you're actually in St. Louis, I can definitely point you toward some solid dermatologists.🙂

Yeah, I went through the exact same thing right around the corners of my mouth. I ended up picking up an astringent toner designed for oily skin and some Triderm cream, and honestly, the peeling is finally starting to subside. It feels like I’m slowly getting my skin back, thank God. I had actually noticed my skin getting pretty greasy even before this started. My plan is to stick with the toner consistently from now on, but if this whole mess happens again, I'm heading straight to a dermatologist!
