Hey there
I’m looking for something as tiny and light as possible because "portability" is kind of my main thing here—but I need a bit more kick than the basic laptops I've been seeing lately.
What am I using it for?
Programming, specifically Visual Studio 2017, and I'd be using this for actual work.
It would be killer if it had a 1080p resolution so everything isn't just crammed together on the screen (tiny fonts don't bother me... yet...).
Intel:
The CPU isn't the biggest dealbreaker, as long as it's at least a quad-core hitting 2.0GHz (I'd prefer Intel, but AMD is fine too, I guess).
RAM is pretty vital—minimum 8 GB, preferably a single stick if possible.
Forget an HDD; an SSD is a total must. Even a 120GB one is enough as long as the read/write speeds are fast, since that's what really eats into my build times.
OS: Doesn't matter much, could come with FreeDOS or Linux; I've already got Windows 10 ready to go at home.
Graphics? Integrated is fine, but I need at least Intel 6000 as a baseline because of Unity, which I use, though obviously more power is always better.
Screen size?
Ehh, if I could find a 13" it would be awesome (not even sure if 1080p is a thing on 13" screens), but 15" works too. Smaller is definitely better in my book.
A numeric keypad isn't a big deal for me (I assume small models don't even have them anyway).
Price? Ideally somewhere in the $300-$400 range, but I can stretch up to $700 if it's worth it.
I'm open to ordering from overseas stores, but I'm not interested in used gear.

I don't care about the flashy stuff, like those overpriced Yoga gimmicks. I just need something compact that won't die on me while I'm working.
