So, look, I’ve been riding a snowboard for quite some time now, and I feel perfectly secure—I’ve got total control over my board, but that isn't really the issue here... For years, I’ve been watching these riders out there using boards that are significantly narrower than the average setup, equipped with ski-style bindings, where their feet are pointed almost directly forward... Now, I’ve never actually had the chance to pull anyone aside and ask them what that specific setup is called, mostly because you simply can't catch up to them on the slopes, no matter how fast you're carving... I'm genuinely curious about the terminology because I'm planning to make the switch next season; I'm already pretty proficient on a standard snowboard ☕ 😁 therefore, does anyone happen to have more information than I do?

That’s what we call a race-board style snowboard—it’s pretty easy to spot because it’s noticeably narrower than your standard board, lacks a traditional tail since it’s cut flat, and is designed specifically to be used with hard boots.
