Sometimes a touch says way more than any word ever could, mostly because you just can't fake non-verbal cues.

A warm, genuine hug does wonders for both your body and your mind; it builds that foundation of trust and safety while serving as a pure expression of love.
A hug doesn't have to be some massive production either—it’s about being present. It can be subtle, just a quick moment... interlacing fingers, a hand on a shoulder, a light touch of the fingertips, or that real skin-on-skin contact...

Just pausing for a second to let your body shiver from that living warmth that never stops flowing through the soul... a warmth that goes both ways, leaving you feeling grateful just to have been touched by such a special soul.

I actually found the inspiration to start this thread yesterday after losing a dear friend who brought so much joy to our lives, enriching our everyday existence with his love—he gave us his absolute best, and in return, he received the very best from all of us who loved him. Honestly, I finally get why they say a dog is a person's best friend.
When you lose someone, you start wondering if there was a crucial moment where you should have reached out for one last hug... one final embrace to offer forgiveness...

image

Could we have sensed we were going to lose someone who had become such a part of us? Did any of you feel it coming? Is life just one long, eternal embrace with death, where you can't really pull them apart?

A hug is a beautiful gift—one size truly fits all.

So, what does a hug mean to you? Express it however you want—through words, a photo, a song, a poem, or even just silence... whatever feels right here on this forum.

Yeah... a hug. You can't really get much closer to someone physically than that. It requires opening up—exposing your neck and chest, those areas we instinctively try to protect and hide.

Anyway, great topic. We need more positive vibes like this, both here on Reddit and just in general life.

I’m not going to post a photo, because for me, actually embracing someone is incredibly difficult
Why is that?
I just don't know.

You have to learn how to embrace yourself first—to truly love who you are—before you can really hold someone else. That relationship you have with yourself is the most important one of all.
To me, a hug is the ultimate sign of closeness. Sometimes, it speaks much louder than any words ever could...🙂

That is precisely the point.

I find the concept of loving oneself a bit strange. It feels selfish at times, even if it’s the truth. I've noticed that when you genuinely accept who you are, people notice that confidence and gravitate toward you. It's less about ego and more about self-acceptance.

I honestly can't even put into words how much I'm aching for a hug right now.... ever since she left three months ago... I haven't hugged anyone, and man, it’s just eating me alive from the inside out...

There’s honestly nothing quite as beautiful as a hug that comes straight from the heart... I mean, one that isn't just some frantic scramble for safety during a storm, nor is it driven by sexual tension or any other kind of manipulative nonsense... just a pure, simple moment of genuine closeness. 🙂

There are really two ways to look at self-love. There’s the selfish kind—purely ego-driven—which eventually leads to self-destruction. Then there’s the healthy kind, which sustains both the body and the soul. That’s what I mean. The first type is already a disorder. Trust me, everything starts within us 😉... I've convinced myself of that a million times over. If you aren't happy being alone with yourself, you can't be happy with anyone else. It’s why people who wake up hating themselves end up hating the whole world by lunchtime. And that's just the truth.

All those souls are just traveling—looking for themselves in the reflection of others.
Quite often, they find nothing at all in those mirrors. Sometimes they think they see something, but it’s really just wishful thinking—they want so badly to see a spark, or perhaps they're just staring at souls that are fast asleep. It’s funny, really... how some can sleep so deeply despite all the wonders in this world that stay hidden unless you truly open your eyes...
There is such joy when they finally catch a glimpse of another soul. Even though they already possess everything they need, there's a special kind of happiness in sharing that joy together. A touch of the soul, a physical embrace... it's everything.

When two souls truly connect through a genuine embrace, they find a way to merge on a level most people can't even fathom. We aren't talking about some casual, polite hug here; when that happens, you feel this intense, full-body chill—almost like an organic orgasm running through your veins. It’s just the natural order of things for souls to unite in that kind of way, provided you've actually cleared the clutter from your mind and let go of all those mental prejudices first. Anyone who has actually experienced it knows exactly what I'm talking about...
Anything else you hear about hugging or "positive vibes" is completely meaningless if there isn't true sincerity behind it.
Someone might wrap their arms around another person simply because that's how they were conditioned to act, but that carries absolutely zero weight. Some people probably see themselves in this—those who offer a hug merely out of social obligation or learned behavior without feeling any actual impulse or need to do so.

There are so many different ways to hug someone. A physical hug definitely carries its own weight, right? When things are going great, you don't even have to think about it—you just lean in and wrap them up in your arms. It’s totally natural for any living thing to crave that kind of closeness when the vibes are right. But what happens when someone actually hurts us? Or those times when everything just feels off, and we're struggling to even like ourselves, let alone be close to anyone else? How do you offer a hug in those moments without it feeling forced or fake? And then there are those hugs you can't even see with your eyes. How do you learn to give those kinds of hugs—the ones where the other person might not even realize they're being held?

What’s the deal with hugging... when all you feel is this wave of awkwardness—where you can barely stand being yourself, let alone someone else. How do you hug in those moments without feeling forced, or worse, fake.

Not at all. I mean, what would be the point? If there isn't even a tiny impulse to reach out—if those internal sensors are just dead—then they're dead. Even Jesus raised the dead, but nowadays it feels like only zombies are rising 🙂
I might just go hug a tree instead... sounds silly, I know, but I think I'll actually go find one today. Maybe two, depending on which one looks more inviting 🙂 🙂

How do you learn to hug someone without them even realizing it.

Just embrace them in spirit. Though, maybe they will sense it if the connection is sincere enough—and if they happen to be on a similar wavelength 🙂

Hug me...
This song was playing on loop for me all last night—it's beautiful. I first heard it about ten days ago while I was grabbing some fruit at Whole Foods. I meant to look it up on YouTube right then, but it slipped my mind, and then suddenly here it is. So nice 🙂

Wait, isn't the soul supposed to be "immaterial"? Like, how can you actually feel it or touch it, and how does it reach back out to us? I'm just totally lost here...

Just like when sleep wraps us up tight at night
like a flower waking up to the morning light
like the sky reaching out for the stars above
just like the sun kissing the ocean tide
