Hey everyone! I’m finally jumping into the fray and decided to kick things off by starting a new
thread. I did a bit of digging through the archives first, but honestly, nothing really hit close to home regarding what I’m going through.
About a year ago, I was just out for a stroll downtown when, out of nowhere, my body just... quit on me. I couldn't move
an inch. It was this sudden wave of weakness, and it felt like my legs just gave out right at the hips.
I ended up just standing there, frozen, while people swerved around me on the sidewalk, probably wondering why some stranger was just camping out in the middle of the walkway. After about fifteen minutes of sheer panic and feeling totally lightheaded, I managed to shuffle my way over to
a wall to lean on, just terrified of what might happen next. That was a year ago, and ever since, I’ve been walking with a limp. I went through the whole nine yards of medical testing, and it turns out I have herniated discs along with
a whole laundry list of other spinal issues. I’ve tried everything—physical therapy, seeing chiropractors,
even acupuncture and stuff like that. Nothing has touched it!
The weirdest part? I don't feel any pain! I’m not even on medication, and whenever I tell people, they’re all like,
"Oh, lucky you! No pain!" But what good is "no pain" if I can barely walk? I’ve become such a homebody because I feel like everyone is staring at me when I limp, and the physical exhaustion from just trying to move properly means I
can't really wander far from my front door. And man, I used to live for long walks and weekend trips; now, none of that brings me any joy.
On top of that, the doctors told me I’m not even a candidate for surgery. It feels like nobody actually has a solution for me.
So, I’ve been trying to DIY my recovery—doing some yoga here and there, getting massages, and I even picked up
one of those high-tech sound-wave massage devices you see online.
Has anyone else dealt with something like this? I’m honestly at a loss for where to turn next.
