Sperm Freezing: What do I need to know?

Sperm freezing. Is this even an option here in the States? Can anyone just walk in and get it done, or are there restrictions? I’d love to hear some actual experiences or opinions on the matter.

It’s handled by the Mayo Clinic, but my understanding is that they generally reserve it for patients with specific medical diagnoses—basically people whose future fertility is at risk due to illness or certain treatments.
