Staying aware???

By any chance?

Or is it the most important thing of all?

As someone who identifies with the darker currents of thought, I would argue that awareness is the single most vital element of all.

it's really just

what else could possibly matter if you don't have that?

because, honestly, nothing else even counts without it

Is that just an afterthought?

Or is it actually the most important thing of all?

V.

It's the most important thing!
People claim love is what matters most, but don't buy into that—not if you aren't self-aware enough to even understand what love actually is.
And that's not even touching on all those other shallow topics...

Wow... I've got to hand it to you for asking that.👍

I mean, sure, anyone could just claim to be some kind of Buddhist, a Taoist, or a Tantric practitioner... honestly, they could pick any label they wanted. But if that's the case, what actually gives this specific path its unique edge compared to those other traditions?

The best part about being a fish is not knowing you're underwater.

well, I suppose that's pretty much exactly what I was getting at myself.

Like I said, the best way to handle fish is when they don't even realize they're underwater.

But how on earth do YOU know that for sure?

I don't.
Ask a fish if it knows it's underwater and watch the circus start.😁

You might as well ask a fish if it realizes it's swimming, and then you can watch the whole circus unfold.😁

Ah... I hear you on that.

I suppose for some people, things just feel a little easier this way for the time being.😁

I guess some people find it easier to deal with this way for now. 😁

Look, whether it’s easier or harder doesn't matter. It just is.

You ride a bike?

So, are you a cyclist?

Whether I ride a bike or not isn't actually the point here,

it's just that being fully aware of it all is what truly counts for me. 😁

What matters is that I'm aware of it.😁

"Aware," huh?
Next time, try driving with total, hyper-fixated awareness of every single pedal press, every muscle twitch, and every microscopic cellular process happening while you move. Don't miss a single millisecond of coordination.

Then let me know how that works out for you.😉

Quick follow-up question: what does "being aware" even mean?

Similarly, paper is better off unaware of the book it resides in.

And chips are best when you have no idea what kind of potato went into them.

Or a burger—it’s much more palatable when you aren't questioning the quality of the beef.

Even with beer, isn't it better if you don't know the origin of the hops?
