Hey, quick question—does anyone know roughly how long it takes for a subdural hematoma to clear up? Just looking for a ballpark estimate.
The specifics are a bit heavy... we’re talking a bilateral lamellar subdural hematoma, fronto-temporo-parietal, measuring about 3mm and 5mm. There aren't any signs it's spreading, just that it should eventually absorb on its own. So... what kind of timeline are we actually looking at here?
Thanks.

It varies from person to person, but you could be looking at anything from 6 months to a full year. That's the standard timeline we see with premature infants dealing with brain bleeds.

Thanks for getting back to me. Google keeps throwing these insane numbers at me, but honestly? It’s kind of hard to wrap my head around 😲

Why "brutal"? Look, the brain is a sensitive organ. It doesn't bounce back as fast as skin or muscle, for example, so that recovery timeline actually makes sense. The bottom line is that we just need to ensure things aren't getting any worse.

You’re totally spot on. I mean, I kind of checked out mentally for a month there—just sort of drifted—and everything turned out surprisingly great. Honestly, caught me off guard. Thx. 😉
