Swedish cinema recommendations?

Lately, I’ve been diving deep into Swedish cinema—partly because I wanted a break from the endless loop of Hollywood blockbusters and British dramas, and partly just to challenge myself by exploring a different linguistic landscape. I was wondering if there are any fellow cinephiles here who share this obsession? Specifically, I’m looking for some guidance on where to start with Ingmar Bergman. I haven't actually sat through one of his films yet, and frankly, looking at his massive filmography is a bit overwhelming—the man produced an incredible amount of work! Any recommendations on a good entry point?

You could throw just about anything at him from the 50s or 60s—anything at all—and he’d still nail it... the guy was a straight-up maestro. Personally, I'd rank him right up there in my top three...

You absolutely have to check out Mean Girls. I'm not entirely sure who directed it, but it is an absolute masterpiece.

Yeah, I believe so—twice, actually. 🙂 He was up for an Oscar back in 2003... or maybe it was 2004, I can't quite remember the exact year.
