So, my mom’s right arm and fingers just suddenly swelled up out of nowhere like a balloon a couple of days ago...

Does anyone have any clue what might be causing that?

What if they just went to see a doctor? Or maybe hit up the ER? 🤷

This really isn't normal. It could be something actually dangerous, like a blood clot.

Seriously though, this doesn't sound right at all. It could actually be something pretty sketchy, like a blood clot or something.

Yeah, I was actually just reading about how it could be that :/ and she’d totally go if she could, but she’s currently abroad right now so she’s kind of stuck. I guess her only real move is to find some private doctor over there.

But besides a blood clot, what else could it be?

I don't know, you'd have to ask one of our doctors here. My first thought was that I've read about cases where someone's leg just swells up out of nowhere and it turns out to be a blood clot.

And if that's what we're looking at, you don't mess around. It can travel straight to the heart, lungs, or brain.

Honestly, I think her mother needs to get her to a doctor immediately, regardless of what the actual issue turns out to be.

And if that actually is what we're looking at, it's definitely not something to mess around with since those things can travel to the heart, lungs, or even the brain.

Seriously though, I think your mom should probably head to the doctor immediately, regardless of what the actual issue turns out to be.

okay thanks 😢

Honestly, I'd rather just panic and deal with some nonsense than stay quiet and let something actually go wrong. 🙂

Besides the blood clot, there are a few other things I'm thinking about...
Has Mom had a mammogram or maybe at least a breast ultrasound lately? Also, check if she has any swollen lymph nodes under her armpit.

Either way, she needs to see a doctor immediately! It doesn't matter if she's currently abroad—she needs to head straight to an ER right now!

It’s nothing like that 😢 honestly, I don't know, I'll go ask her right now to check if those lymph nodes feel swollen.

Also, is it actually possible for her arm to swell up because of some meds? Like, could it be a side effect from those stupid vitamins she’s been taking lately???
