Well, I actually went. And he did suggest avoiding it if possible... He referred me for a CT myelogram, so now I'm just playing the waiting game for an appointment.

The thing that’s really weighing on my mind—and this is what the doctor touched upon—are the potential complications regarding bladder control and bowel movements (the kind of issues that can linger for months following surgery). He mentioned one of his patients didn't see things get back to normal for about six months.

Then there's the risk of bacterial meningitis that I've been reading about online. For that one, you just have to pray to God it doesn't happen. But regarding the first issue—the recovery process—I was wondering if anyone here has had similar experiences or knows what that's like?

I’ve already gone under the knife twice for disc herniations, and I just got my latest MRI results back. Turns out, I’ve also got a Tarlov cyst at the S2 level. I haven't even sat down with a neurosurgeon to go over the findings yet, so honestly, I have no clue what I'm in for!
