I don't know about you guys, but I've become increasingly skeptical of those preseason statements about everyone being "ready to go" or "healthy and eager" when camp kicks off. Every single year, we hear this exact same script from the coaching staff. It sounds great on paper, and it’s what the fans want to hear to get the hype train moving, but it always feels like we're just setting ourselves up for a massive letdown by mid-October.
In my experience, the actual reality of training camp is always much messier. You see a roster that looks perfect on paper on day one, only to have the most important guys sidelined by week three because of "minor tweaks" or fatigue. It feels like there's this weird pressure to project absolute confidence, even when everyone knows there are massive question marks lurking in the shadows.
Is it even possible to truly have a "full" squad ready to roll, or is this just standard PR to keep the media at bay?
