The Ice Harvest
Auuuuu, such a fantastic noir from Harold Ramis ππβit feels like heβs finally back in top form after all this timeβand honestly, I guess it might even surpass Groundhog Day, if only because the noir vibe is just so spot on. You really have to notice how seamlessly it shifts from comedy into that subtle, unsettling sense of noirish doom. It's just... incredible π
.
John Cusack is pretty much the same as he is in any other movieβhe's fine, I suppose, but once you've seen him in one role, you've basically seen them all π
.
Billy Bobβhe was good, and notably, he didn't overact, which is a huge plus π
.
Connie NielsenβI'm not quite sure why, but I just never seem to connect with her performances, regardless of the film πβthough, at the very least, she doesn't drag the whole movie down
.
Oliver Plattβhe absolutely stole the show; he took a role that many actors would have completely botched and played it perfectlyβdefinitely an easy 5 π π
.
Highly recommended for anyone who has a soft spot for noir π π
