Is Rodriguez just messing around? Like, for real?

Or is he actually being serious here? I haven't seen his first one, but I caught Desperado and OUTIM, and man, I was absolutely cracking up... It’s just—I can't tell if Rodriguez is a total clown (doesn't seem likely, given how he killed it in Sin City) or just a really great jokester?

In OUTIM, that scene on the plaza—as soon as it starts, you've got like four motorcycles jumping all over the square, everyone’s pulling weapons... right in the middle of the day, in the main plaza! It feels like Johnny Depp is definitely playing for laughs, but with Rodriguez, I'm just not 100% sure what the vibe is...

Between Tarantino and Rodriguez, I'd say Rodriguez is always more "sophisticated"—if you can even use a word like that to describe either of them... 😁😬

Tarantino is just straight-up bizarre, whereas Rodrigues actually brings a bit of style to the table. That’s just how I see it. 🙂
OUTIM is a great flick—and look, I'm not even a huge Depp fan, but I have to admit he was a solid choice for the Sands role 👍 .

Look, I love Depp (not just because of the looks—I'm not a total creep, obviously!—but because of the acting) ever since I saw Cry Baby in theaters—you know, that Waters parody of the greaser era. He's got some bad roles, sure, but he also has some absolute gems. Like, he was brilliant in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

But that part where Depp shoots the chef? Man, that totally floored me... I almost fell right out of my chair...

And get it this good: Rodriguez actually dropped a hint in a recent interview that they’re already deep in development on a Sandsov game for PlayStation! It's wild, right? Also, just thinking out loud here, but those Sandsov scripts? They're basically 90% pure Depp improvisation. Honestly, the guy is a total genius whenever that spark hits him—he just goes off the rails in the best way possible!

Yeah, actually—I can't even think of a time he was truly bad. He was just kind of mid in Traffic, you know? Like, his acting was fine, but he really hits his stride when he gets to play those totally bizarre, weirdo characters.
