The People's Temple. Honestly, I’m not usually one for heavy cinema, but for some godforsaken reason, I decided to borrow this flick today thinking I could handle it.
Ugh, it was just... depraved. Truly. I actually feel a sense of regret for sitting through the whole thing.😱 😱 😱 🤮
And man, that guy who filmed it? 🤮
PS. I saw that thread about "disturbing movies," but honestly, this one is in a league of its own and deserves its own damn discussion. 😲

I’m still just sitting here, staring blankly at my monitor, completely paralyzed by the shock of it all...😱

Go watch "Pink Flamingos" if you really want a front-row seat to pure sickness.

I could’ve picked up that movie for a few bucks—cheap enough—but word on the street is it’s absolute garbage.

Wait, is that the one from that serial killer series???

Anyway, I managed to get my hands on the John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer stuff.

Pink Flamingos is pure cult trash. Total John Waters vibes.
Regarding The People's Temple, I wasn't particularly fond of it; most of their madness felt quite tedious to me... though, I wouldn't say the filmmaking was poor. They managed to capture the atmosphere of the era quite effectively enough.
Did any of you realize that Charles Manson is actually the most notorious prisoner in the history of the USA?

e afro, that’s just because you clearly haven't trained your eyes yet😉
Where on earth did you borrow that from? A local video rental shop or something?

If you really want, I can lend you an actual masterpiece of a film instead

Yeah, so it’s from that series. I borrowed it from a buddy, thinking it was just going to be some mediocre, typical American adaptation of the whole thing... but man, I did not see this coming. If I’d known, I wouldn't have even bothered watching it. I wouldn't go so far as to say it’s objectively "bad," but it is absolutely sick, plain and simple. Especially the way they shot it—just when you finally get immersed in the movie... it's revolting.
