Handling everything both in front of and behind the lens is Marc Anthony—this powerhouse American actor and director who basically breathed life into one of the most intense characters of the 21st century. Yep, you guessed it, we’re talking about Circe and his wild ride leading up to a massive turning point.

If you actually want to follow what's happening here, do yourself a favor and binge the whole series first. It’s a tragedy, really, because over here in the States, the whole thing totally flew under the radar, which honestly isn't surprising given how things usually go with ☕

Just finished watching. Honestly, even though it felt a little forced and kind of half-baked in parts, I’m still giving it a thumbs up. Because of how good the show has been, Jimmy just has so much credit with me that I can't bring myself to tear him apart. He definitely missed the mark a bit with that whole subplot involving the Russians and the guys from the States, though. But hey, even that was smoothed over by a pretty killer ending.

All in all, it’s a pretty cool little detour into the directing style of one of the main guys from the series.

My plan was to finish Season 4 before diving into the movie. I didn't want to read spoilers or even watch trailers just to avoid ruining the vibe. Turns out, you find out what you're waiting for within minutes of the film starting. Then I watched the final trailer. Everything becomes obvious immediately.

The film functions as both a prequel and a sequel to the series.
I was hoping for a deeper dive into the backstory—maybe seeing how young Jimmy and young Genny first met back when he was a chubby kid with a red face they used to call "Paprika." 😬

That blonde woman in the USA caught my eye; I was expecting some sort of spark between her and Jimmy. Nothing happened.

By the end, young Jimmy meets Attilio, who tells him they're going to meet Don Corleone. If we assume this takes place in the early '90s, yet the actors playing Attilio and Don Corleone are only about three years apart in real life, how did Tony Soprano manage to become a boss by age 18 or 19?

I was really hoping the plot would push things further, you know? Like, show us how little Jimmy and little Genny first met back in the day. Genny used to be this chubby kid with a face so red they called him "Red" back then (okay, fine, he was always kind of a round guy later on too).😬

I mean, look, Genny didn't have the same upbringing Jimmy did. It feels like he didn't really step into his own until his old man had to start laying low. Until then, he was just hanging out in the shadow of his dad, totally shielded from the real grit of it all.

Maybe he wasn't even the actual boss yet, just running things for the street kids or something.

But honestly, who cares about digging into those tiny details anyway?

I don't even know what to say, man. This series is just way too gritty and brutal for our usual tastes.🤷

There will be. Filming was supposed to start this summer, but who knows given the current climate. One of the writers is Marc Anthony, and I expect he'll direct a few episodes like he has before.

aha, so your take is basically that both of them just crawled back out of the gutter and now we get to watch this whole mess reset and play out all over again from scratch? like, let's just smooth everything over and pretend nothing happened? cool, cool.

honestly though, I was dying to see how Genny actually clawed his way out of that absolute disaster, mostly because his entrance into that situation was just too damn smooth to pass up.
I mean, look, what we got isn't even bad—that ending hits hard—but still...

Honestly, the movie was kind of a dud... total letdown. But man, that series? Absolutely phenomenal.

Anyone remember the Dante episode from season 3? It was easily the highlight of the entire series. Felt more like a standalone short film than anything else.

Yeah, exactly. People were expecting way too much from the movie just because they loved the show. It feels like they forced this whole "return" thing just to chase the money and satisfy the fans.

Maybe they should've played it a bit more subtle, you know? I have no clue how the corporate politics work behind the scenes—like who actually owns the rights and who’s calling the shots on where the series goes next.
