Is it just me, or does the whole concept of "accountability" feel like it's slipping through our fingers lately? I was reading something the other day about how little we actually know about the people holding the levers of power. It’s wild to think that someone could be effectively checked out, yet still be the one making massive decisions that affect every single one of us.
I remember back in the day, you felt like you had a pulse on what was happening in DC. Now, it feels like we’re just staring at carefully curated press releases and polished statements while the real reality is hidden behind closed doors. There’s this growing sense of "don't ask, don't tell" when it comes to the actual health and capability of our representatives.
It makes you wonder: at what point does a leader's right to privacy become a liability for the public? If we can't trust that the people in charge are actually present and capable, how are we supposed to have any faith in the system itself?
Does anyone else feel like we're being kept in the dark on purpose, or am I just being paranoid?
