Hey ladies πŸ™‚

So, I’ve basically been thin my entire life, but then out of nowhere, I just ballooned up to 185 lbs. Okay, maybe not "out of nowhere," but I gained like 65 pounds in a year and a half... which sucks. I'm 5'9" and 23. Since I have zero self-control when it comes to food and can't seem to stop eating, I figured I should probably look into a weight loss clinic.

I know this might sound totally crazy, but please, I need some guidance. I found this one specialist over in Bulgaria, Dr. Eugene Debs, but I’d love to hear what you guys think first.

My wedding is this July and I am dying to get back to my old skinny self... πŸ™‚

Please, someone help me out!!!

It looks to me like you used to be way thinner back in the day...
And now... you're carrying maybe 20 or 30 pounds of extra weight for your height... which isn't actually a huge deal. It’s basically just two or three months of not overindulging and hitting the gym a little bit.
As for all this talk about medical clinics... honestly, I spend a lot of time scrolling through these forums and various threads, and I haven't seen women carrying three times your weight even mention specialized clinics.
...With a little bit of discipline and some self-control, you can essentially build your own clinic right at home.

I'm wondering tooβ€”is there even a clinic in the States that handles this kind of thing?

My situation is a bit more complicated... I've got quite a few health issues going on, so most diets are basically off the tableβ€”diabetes and all that sort of stuff.

Honestly, if I just had someone to actually guide me properly, it would mean the world.

To the OP: look, you aren't huge or anything, but dropping 30 lbs in a year and a half feels like a lotβ€”makes me worry there might be something deeper going on. Have you actually gone in for any medical tests or anything?

Maybe start by getting your thyroid levels checked?

I suspect there isn't a clinic quite like that here in the Statesβ€”which is a bit of a shame, I guess... there was actually some recent study suggesting Americans are among the top four heaviest in the Western world, or something like that, maybe

In principle, when you see a sudden weight gain of 65 pounds in just eighteen months, it's almost always a sign that your thyroid is malfunctioning.

There actually are clinics like that in the US.! www.mrsavim.com . They guarantee you'll eat much less after the first treatment... take a look

That’s definitely not a real clinic
and honestly, those treatments are total nonsense. If someone is dealing with actual medical issues, this won't help them at all

plus, trying to treat depression with an MRI? They should probably report them to the FDAπŸ™„

There are at least two, maybe even more, specialized clinics in the States. One is located out near a small town in New Jersey, and the other is where I stayed, up near Palm Springs. To be honest, the setup in Palm Springs works pretty well, though you might not get every single thing promised in the brochure. I guess the whole two-week weight loss retreat costs somewhere around $1.75, though prices have probably dropped since then. That covers consultations with a doctor and a psychologist, a specific diet, scheduled gym sessions, and unlimited access to a really nice pool. On top of that, you can use their thermal baths, plus you get a few massages and lymphatic drainage sessions during those two weeks. If you actually stick to the plan, you could lose anywhere from 15 to 22 pounds, depending on the person. They even include Xenical, those weight loss pills, in the price. The rooms are a bit uncomfortable, I suppose, and if you want any kind of social life, it’s probably best to have a car so you can drive around and visit places ranging from Napa Valley to Santa Barbara.
