Here’s a little more info on them:

The xx is an English indie pop band, formed in London in 2008. The group released their debut album, xx in August 2009. The album ranked highly on many best of 2009 lists, placing number one on the list compiled by The New York Times and second for Rolling Stone. In 2010, the band won the Grammy Award for their debut album.

They are currently working on their second album, Coexist, which is to be released on September 7, 2012.



They're actually really good, honestly. 😍

I've really been getting hooked on Infinity. 🙂 It's honestly great. It gives me those heavy, moody vibes that totally remind me of Chris Isaak's Wicked gama.

Personally, Islands is my absolute favorite, and even though I've probably listened to that track a million times, it still gives me chills every single time I hear it.

Did anyone catch them at Terraneo on August 9th? They played then🙂

I’m obsessed with them too... Islands, Crystalised, Stars, Heart skipped a beat... honestly, every single track is perfect... Can't wait for the new album!

Man, that one is a huge favorite of mine too (especially that part you quoted), though I only just "discovered" it because it didn't download when I was ripping The xx album, no idea why. :/ But now it's basically on constant repeat😁

They’re just wonderful, and I find myself reaching for them quite often. Honestly, Infinity is my absolute favorite. 😍
The production quality is top-tier, paired with those melancholic, romantic lyrics, and there's just something about how their voices blend together so seamlessly. Their latest track is breathtakingly beautiful; my only tiny grievance is that I wish it lingered just a little longer :/ (usually, I don't mind when their songs are brief, but this one specifically leaves me wanting more).

It's funny because every single review by Terraneo I ever came across seemed to pan them, calling them boring or way too overhyped. 😕

I only caught one review like that, pretty sure it was from some critic at Rolling Stone or something, but I can't be certain... From what I've read, everyone was more or less loving them haha
I didn't make it to Terraneo, unfortunately, but my friends were there and they were absolutely stoked. They said they sound just like the record, maybe even better...^^

Romy Madley Croft said the new songs show the evolution of the band over the past few years. "I've been thinking that I hope people enjoy it as a separate thing. The first album exists – we're not trying to make it again," she said, before adding:

We've just grown up, and although this isn't a 'grown up' album, we’ve evolved. It's just us growing a bit more. I hope people enjoy it as a continuation, rather than us trying to make the first album again.

I dig it, but honestly, The xx is still a bit better for me. At least for now. Maybe after I've spun this new album a few more times I'll change my mind, who knows... 🙂

I've had this on repeat all day long.
They always seem to put me in such a good mood—it’s genuinely calming. I know it’s probably way too early to be getting my hopes up, but honestly? I wouldn't complain at all if they dropped a new album right about now. 🙂

I'm absolutely loving The xx.
Jamie xx puts out some seriously great remixes and tracks.
