A priest from Canada recently popped up on a Sunday news program to lecture our youth—since apparently, we don't have anyone left to teach them.
He was arguing that the Church shouldn't allow Catholics to practice karate because self-defense implies you don't trust the Church's teaching that God protects us all.
If that’s the case, why does the Pope need a custom-built armored limo? Why is he surrounded by hundreds of bodyguards, with police cordoning off entire streets and sealing every manhole cover just to keep him safe? Maybe they're just worried about a rat jumping out of a sewer.
It makes no sense why God would look out for us regular folks but leave his "representative on Earth" hanging.
I can't help but wonder if he even believes his own sermons. If he actually had faith in those teachings, he wouldn't need a small army guarding him; he'd expect God to watch his back even more than ours.
I'm genuinely lost here. Can someone with half a brain explain this logic to me?
