Lately, my tongue seems to trip over itself every once in a while when I’m talking. It’s actually pretty terrifying—I’ve become so anxious about it that I’m almost afraid to open my mouth, fearing it might be something serious. Look, I know I’m a HUGE hypochondriac, but the fear is still very real. I’m 14, by the way. It feels like every time I hear about some nasty illness, I somehow manage to check off all the symptoms myself. You guys can laugh at me 😛 I realize how ridiculous this sounds. I just really need someone to talk me down if they have any idea what this could be. Please, just don't freak me out 😛

What can I possibly say to you without either lying through my teeth or sending you into a full-blown panic? 🤷
You mentioned being a massive hypochondriac—which, let’s face it, means pretty much anything I say is going to spook you.
Look, I’m certainly no doctor—and it could very well be nothing at all; it might just be something you've conjured up, and I’m fairly certain there’s nothing wrong.
On the other hand, it could be anything. When I hear about this mental fogging, my mind immediately jumps to minor strokes—that classic sort of cognitive confusion (but please, don't go panicking just yet).
However, I suspect you’re actually quite far from that, especially since you mentioned your tongue occasionally trips over itself.
We all have those days, I suppose. 🙂
So, try not to spiral. My own speech gets tangled up all the time; if I were any more surprised by it, it would probably be because these kinds of days just seem to happen whenever they feel like it. 😉

Alright, thanks for getting back to me. Any more advice would be—well, I suppose it’d be welcome!

Are you experiencing any other issues, such as a tingling sensation, or does your tongue feel swollen or numb? Any other symptoms at all?

He hasn't had anything like that so far, but I'm sure he will soon.😁

Honestly, I think it’s just psychological.

I've had these red bumps on my tongue for about a month now—I've been trying to clear them up with yogurt, which probably isn't helping—so what could this even be? I guess today was actually one of the few days they didn't flare up at all.
