I’ve got this old Dell AOA-150—it’s an 8.9-inch model with a 1.6 processor—and the constant buzzing sound coming from it is driving me absolutely insane... I even tried replacing the speakers, but the noise persists regardless... please, someone tell me what could be causing this... it’s running on ancient Windows XP 32-bit, which hasn't seen support in ages... could it be the motherboard? And more importantly, is it even possible to install a different version of Windows on this prehistoric piece of junk? I'm torn between two options: either find a fix for the first problem because I honestly just want to tinker with it and learn how to swap out operating systems, or just strip it down for parts—screen, charger, battery, speakers, fan... you name it... thanks in advance for any help, everyone

Look, let's start by having you lay out the whole damn problem clearly and concisely in writing first. This situation is absolutely pathetic ;div>

First off, the audio quality is absolutely abysmal, and secondly, I am looking to switch over to some newer versions of Windows, so that is essentially the situation...

The first thing you really need to tackle is finding a solid driver for your PC. You might want to try downloading this little utility www.driveridentifier.com/download.php, which should help you track down the best and most recent drivers available. Another way to handle this would be to head over to the Dell support site, specifically here: http://www.driverscape.com/manufactu...tops/zg5/77844.

If you could just let me know the exact model of the laptop or PC you're using, we can take this one step at a time...

From what I can tell, that's a pretty old laptop—definitely showing its age. Honestly, if I were you, I’d just go ahead and install Windows 7 Starter. It might be worth just formatting the hard drive and starting fresh with some clean Windows installs...

Yes, precisely so, but where on earth am I supposed to download all of this in a single ZIP file, and does anyone actually have a decent tutorial covering the formatting process and everything else required to get this running...

Are you thinking in terms of an ISO file? Look, if you're totally new to this, you might want to grab a friend or a neighbor who's tech-savvy to help you out. You'll first need to get your hands on some Windows software, then create a bootable USB drive or burn it to a blank DVD. From there, you just boot from that, format the drive, and install a fresh version of Windows...

Or just slap a Linux distro on that junk alongside Windows 7.
