Why isn't this user being punished for constantly swearing, insulting people, and acting totally out of line on the automotive subforum?

He gets banned every two days, comes back after three, and starts right back up where he left off.

Are his insults just not worth a warning anymore?

Here is a specific example (from a thread about Uber):

I wonder said:If you weren't such an idiot and actually had some work ethic, you'd use that same phone you use to rate your Uber driver to report that IBM guy to the local Chamber of Commerce while you're driving.

The post was reported, but the moderator hasn't issued a warning, and quite a bit of time has passed already.

It seems like they're trying to avoid giving him a formal strike; lately, instead of issuing warnings, they just delete the posts that are nothing but insults.

So my question is, why is he being protected?

Look, Alex Fox3, nobody is "protecting" him. If they were actually looking out for him, he wouldn't have just been slapped with a ban—which, by the way, just happened—so the whole idea that he isn't being punished is total nonsense.
Sure, the guy's a troublemaker—no argument there—but that’s exactly why he's getting sidelined right now.

So why hasn't that quoted post with all the insults been removed yet?

I don't usually go around banning guys who have more gray hair than me, but yeah—I agree, a violation is a violation.
