Can anyone give me the lowdown on this medication for nerve-related stomach issues? I can't find an instruction manual anywhere in English, and someone suggested I start taking it. Thanks in advance!

It’s a tricyclic antidepressant that carries both sedative and anti-anxiety properties.
If your doctor prescribed it, they really should have provided you with the proper guidance on how to take it.
I don't believe it's currently FDA-approved.

You can find more details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trimipramine

It wasn't even my doctor who brought this up, just a buddy of mine dealing with the exact same thing. But honestly, he’s just as lost as I am when it comes to decoding these medical instructions, so... thanks for the reply, I guess, but it doesn't really solve anything for me.

Oh yeah, because clearly the best way to handle antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds is just taking them because a buddy with similar issues told you to—you know, like stomach nerves or whatever... 🤔 since when did that even become a real medical condition?

Great.

I really hope that little bout of confusion leads you straight to a doctor's office—maybe someone with an actual MD degree this time🙂

Man, I just got back from my doctor, and they put me on this whole cocktail of Eglonil, Ranisan, Ultop, and Rudakol—plus some Icontrolok—but honestly? Nothing seems to be doing a damn thing. It’s useless.

So then you just head over to a psychiatrist to get handed a handful of antidepressants and sedatives... suddenly that "nervous stomach" vanishes, and you're perfectly happy and healthy again!!!!

Good grief, why jump straight to the nuclear option?
You never truly know what kind of struggles someone is actually dealing with behind closed doors...😳

Lawrence Hall9, I know you weren't exactly looking for medical advice here, but honestly, give herbal teas a shot. For my stomach issues, peppermint tea is a total lifesaver. Just a heads-up though: try to find some loose-leaf stuff from a local herb shop rather than those cheap grocery store tea bags—the difference is night and day. Sometimes it works so fast it feels like someone just reached in and wiped the pain away, and you can practically drink it all day without any issues. I swap out sodas and water for it constantly, usually mixing it up with green tea. You might also want to look into some valerian drops if you need to chill out. It’s great for just decompressing when things get hectic.

Personally, peppermint tea works wonders for my stomach issues. But seriously, try to find some loose-leaf stuff from a local farmer's market—it’s night and day compared to those cheap little tea bags you grab at the grocery store. Sometimes it hits so fast it feels like someone just waved a magic wand over the pain. And honestly, you can drink it all day; it won't hurt. I basically swap out soda and water for it, usually mixing it with green tea. You might also want to try some Valerian drops if you need to chill out. It’s pretty great for relaxing.

Thanks for such a sweet reply! I'm definitely going to try that right away and see if it helps. Thanks again...
