Honestly, this feels more like an ad than an actual discussion

Looking for O-negative donors specifically from the Southwest region
We’ve already burned through some personal contacts, so we’re trying our luck here instead.
And yeah, obviously, there would be compensation involved.

Shoot me a DM if you have info.

Are you certain you're looking for type O blood? You haven't specified the Rh factor either, which seems suspicious given how common those types are... at least in American hospitals.

Yeah, they want O, but it could be either plus or minus. Basically, the patient doesn't need direct transfusions right now; they're prepping some blood products to administer. It's for recovery after surgery—some complications with pneumonia following a bypass. Of course, the hospital has blood on hand, but they aren't just handing it over. A certain amount had to be donated beforehand, and now, because of these complications, they need even more. It’s not really smart to play mind games with them and test whether they'll pull the plug on treatment if their demand for extra units isn't met.

Can you actually switch up hospitals?

We figured it made more sense to reach out to donors directly by offering some kind of compensation.

Otherwise, I was stuck in that Mayo Clinic hospital about ten years ago after a car wreck, and I remember my buddies showing up just to donate blood. I honestly thought that was just how things worked? Pretty standard stuff, right?

It isn't standard practice to ask for blood donations for a specific patient—that's usually a request made when there's a shortage of a certain type—but that doesn't guarantee they'll receive the exact amount needed just because someone found a donor to "offset" their requirements.
I believe you might be under the misconception that this is somehow mandatory.

Whatever. We’re still scouring every corner to find it, even if it means paying up or offering some other kind of kickback to the provider.
The therapy was cut back almost entirely, right up until one of the doctor's buddies personally vouched that they'd make sure the supply would be more than enough.
