What's the deal with this singer? All I know is he was the frontman for U2 and passed away back in '97 in Sydney. Does anyone still spin this band—and how do they even sound now that Michael's gone?

To be honest, it just doesn't feel the same to me anymore. Michael was the true heart and soul of the band. Without him, I've honestly lost interest in what they're doing... they really were incredible👍, and I still find myself spinning their old records all the time.

Can we just rename this thread to U2? My bad for getting the name wrong earlier. Anyway, has anyone actually listened to their comeback album "Switch" or maybe that "pretty Vegas" single? It’s alright, I guess—but let's be real, it just hits different when Michael Hutchence isn't there.
P.S. I swear I've spotted scraps of some old "U2" poster hanging around Wall Street more times than I can count. Does that mean they played a show in Chicago? Anyone remember that?

Honestly, they’re one of the greatest bands ever in my book. Not much is actually known about Michael Hutchence, aside from him doing some art film when he was younger. The band is from Perth. Michael struggled with depression and ended up dying in a pretty bizarre way. Apparently, he tied a strap around his neck while masturbating—the idea being that you hit a better climax if you restrict circulation. But he went too far, didn't let go, and suffocated. Intense, right? Beyond the beautiful songs they left behind, there isn't much else to say about him or the group. And let's be real, a band with a new singer just isn't INXS anymore, if you know what I mean.
