Hi everyone.

I’m posting this here, though I’m not entirely sure if this is the right forum. My apologies if I’ve misplaced it.

About a month ago, I started experiencing chest pains along with bouts of insomnia. I’ve also been dealing with tingling sensations in my legs—sometimes painful, sometimes just uncomfortable—but the worst part is this strange weakness. It isn't constant; it hits me a few times a day, or sometimes disappears entirely for days at a time. I went to see my doctor, who ordered a full battery of tests: blood work, a chest X-ray, and an echocardiogram. Everything came back normal. My cardiologist suggested it might be gastric issues since I’ve been dealing with frequent acid reflux, but that doesn't really explain the weakness or the tingling in my legs. I'm wondering if I should see a neurologist or perhaps get imaging done on my spine. If anyone has any advice or suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Definitely see a neurologist. They’ll likely want to run an EEG or maybe an MRI to see what's actually going on up there, and you should probably grab an appointment with an orthopedist or a physical therapist too.
At the end of the day, if you've been dealing with heavy stress, all these symptoms could be psychological. So, if the medical tests come back clear, go talk to a psychologist or just try to find some headspace through meditation. Or working out. Something like that, >.👍

I read somewhere that it might be a neck issue too... I'll get everything checked out.

Total panic mode.
Go see a therapist.
That's pretty much the standard diagnosis these days. Nothing new there.

It’s definitely a spine issue, plain and simple—if your shoulders and arms are going numb, you're looking at the cervical area, but if that tingling hits your legs, then it's the lumbar spine down at the bottom)

Can weakness also be a side effect of spinal problems?

Look, if your spine is all messed up and pinching nerves, your circulation is gonna tank, leaving you feeling totally wiped out—that’s what usually happens when your neck is out of alignment, causing those sharp pains in your shoulders, arms, and even that stabbing sensation in your chest near your heart. You really need to start hitting some neck exercises and core workouts because your abs are what actually support your spine, so getting them strong is non-negotiable.
