Here is my current setup:
GPU-MSI GTX 760 Gaming 2048GB GDDR5, N760 TF 2GD5/OC, Dual-link DVI
Motherboard-Z87-G45 GAMING, Socket : 1150, Intel ® Z87, 4xDDR3 1333/1600/3000
CPU-Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz, Haswell
Cooler-Noctua NH D14
RAM-DDR3 8GB (2x4GB) Kingston, 1600MHz, HyperX Genesis
HDD-WD 1TB 10EFRX, WD10EFRX, SATA3, 64 MB, 3.5", WD Red
PSU-XFX Core Edition 80+ 550W PSU - EasyRail technology
Optical Drive-ASUS DRW-24F1ST/BLK/B/AS SATA, DVD-R 24x, DVD-RW 6x, DVD+R 24x
Case-Corsair 450 D
I put this machine together using parts from this forum, and until about six months ago, everything ran perfectly on max settings... but lately, newer titles just won't hit those high specs anymore, so I suppose it’s finally time for an upgrade...
My main question is whether $1667 would be sufficient for such an undertaking... the GPU is my top priority, though I'm also considering swapping this i5 for an i7 if it's proving too weak... I have a high-end cooler, but I'm not entirely sure about overclocking, so if anyone is willing to be patient and walk me through the entire process in detail, I would certainly appreciate the guidance... additionally, adding a 250GB SSD seems like a logical move...
Since I bought the whole rig at a local Best Buy, and everything is still under warranty, it might actually make sense to handle this upgrade right there...
