Hello there.
I have a quick question regarding how I should manage my storage space between different drives.
A bit of context: I ended up picking up a MacBook because it’s the only machine capable of running software X properly.

Mostly, my setup consists of a 24GB SSD paired with a 1TB Hard Disk Drive.
Right now, both the operating system and software X—which is my main priority—are sitting on the Hard Disk Drive, leaving the SSD completely empty.

The OS takes up about 10 GB, while software X requires roughly 20 GB.

So, here is what I am wondering:
If my goal is to maximize the performance of software X while I'm actually working in it, would it be more logical to move the OS to the SSD, or should I put software X there? I can't fit both, unfortunately.
At the moment, things are a bit sluggish—boot times are slow and apps take forever to launch. I suppose I can live with that, really; my main objective is just to speed up the actual operation of software X once it's running. I don't particularly care about loading speeds.

To reiterate: to get the best possible runtime performance out of software X, is it smarter to install the OS on the SSD or the program itself?

Thanks 👍
