USB connection issues

Hey,

I’m running into some serious issues with my USB connections.

My wireless connection relies on this specific adapter:
Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11b/g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter (Digitus, Optima Telecom), and it’s being temperamental. Every time I boot up the PC, the computer recognizes the device, but I have zero internet access.
I end up having to physically unplug the adapter and plug it back in just to get things moving. It’s the same story whenever I try to connect my phone via USB or hook up any other peripheral—the internet connection just dies. It actually made trying to run an upgrade through iTunes a total nightmare.
I dealt with this on my old rig too. A buddy suggested it might be a power delivery issue, so when I picked up this new machine, I went ahead and bought a powered USB hub to rule that out. Still nothing. Aside from the adapter, I’ve also got a HID Keyboard Device for my wireless keyboard plugged in.

If anyone has a clue what's causing this headache, I’d really appreciate the help.

Look, there’s nothing left to debate if you’re getting the exact same results on both your old rig and the new one: your Optimin router is just garbage.
Give them a call and lay it out for them—a router shouldn't be acting like this. Demand they come out and swap it for a decent one.
