Has anyone here actually used Avastin to treat macular degeneration?
My father suffered an ocular infarction, which left him with permanent vision loss—he’s down to about 30% sight in that eye. His doctors have recommended Avastin injections directly into the eye as the only potential way to stabilize or slightly improve his condition. It's worth noting that using Avastin this way is considered "off-label" use. There is a genuine risk of complications, such as infection, and even his specialist wasn't particularly optimistic about the prognosis. Because of that uncertainty, my family is feeling pretty stuck on what the smartest move is right now...
