A close friend of mine is freaking out about this, so she asked me to pick the brains of you experts here... so here it goes ๐Ÿ˜

From what she told me, the last time she was hooking up with her guy, they didn't use a condom, just went at it ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚ ... and now sheโ€™s convinced she caught something because her vaginal area has been insanely irritated for a few days now, and she says everything feels super inflamed. She's just been slathering on some basic drugstore cream to try and dull the ache, but honestly, she's too embarrassed to actually go see a doctor at the clinic...

So, has anyone dealt with something similar or maybe had this happen? Any idea what this could be or what kind of ointment she should actually be using?

Thanks in advance, Maria.

Sheโ€™s sexually active yet refuses to see a gynecologist because she finds the whole thing embarrassing... truly a masterclass in logic. ๐Ÿ™

Look, Iโ€™m telling you, she should've just gone to an OB-GYN to figure out what's actually going on instead of just asking random people on a forum. It could be anything, really. And honestly, like Sophia Nelson67 said, once you start getting intimate, you seriously need to be seeing a doctor regularly anyway.

Look, I told her the exact same thing... she's twenty-one years old, for crying out loud...
so now sheโ€™s basically sitting there crying to me about what she can even do, asking which cream she should grab from CVS because everything down there is completely swollen and inflamed :S

Why on earth would anyone feel ashamed about seeing a gynecologist? ๐Ÿคท
I mean, seriously, doctors aren't some kind of monsters or anything...

She really needs to just go see a specialistโ€”get checked out properlyโ€”so she can actually figure out what's going on and get the right treatment ๐Ÿ˜‰

Totally agree. Guessing which cream might work is a terrible ideaโ€”she could end up making things way worse. She really needs to hit up a gynecologist or even a dermatologist to get actual treatment. I wouldn't mess around with this stuff if I were her...

Iโ€™m 21, and I just had my first gynecologist appointment in five months after being with my exโ€”we were active, so now Iโ€™m actually looking forward to seeing the doctor... I have this nagging feeling that if you catch something down there, itโ€™s going to be an absolute nightmare. Itโ€™s definitely better to prevent it than to try and fix it later.

Crying, complaining, and venting won't fix anything.
Besides, nobody on an online forum can diagnose her or tell her which creams, ointments, or oils to use.
Itโ€™s irresponsible behavior.
If she actually wants to solve this, she needs to see a gynecologist immediately before things get worse.
If sheโ€™s picked up an infection, it isn't just going to vanish on its own.
There is simply no other way.

There is plenty to discover and learn on this forum, along with practical advice that can be put to good use, but I find it fascinating how some people feel the need to broadcast their intimate medical symptoms to the entire world for days on end instead of simply making an appointment with their OB-GYN. I am certain there will be comments labeling me as malicious, but letโ€™s be clear: this forum is not a doctor's office. No one here can perform a physical exam or write you a prescription.

Try explaining to a friend that seeing a gynecologist is just like going to the dentist. Only, if you skip the gynecologist, the consequences are significantly worse.

She likely picked up a yeast infectionโ€”which is why she needs to see a doctor... honestly, yeast infections aren't the end of the world, you can even catch them through casual intimacy... bacteria is everywhere, and if your immune system is even slightly compromised, there goes your health... any woman should feel zero shame about dealing with this at least once in her life... she really needs to stop playing around with these little distractions... if things go south, it'll be too late

Imagine if someone started a thread titled "My friend has a sore lower left molar, what could it be? What should she do?"

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Oh, I'll bet my bottom dollar it's a fungal infectionโ€”my first recommendation would be switching to cotton underwear and skirts (and honestly, maybe skipping the underwear altogether while she's hanging out at home).

Iโ€™m sure thereโ€™ll be plenty of comments calling me mean, but honestly, dear, this forum isn't a clinic, and nobody here is going to perform an exam or write you a prescription.

Maybe she should just post a photo on the forum so we can all diagnose her more easily.๐Ÿคฃ

That kind of behavior is pretty irresponsible, even if it's just a basic yeast infection... ๐Ÿ‘Ž

It is possible she developed some ear piercings issues, which might be why she feels too embarrassed to show up.๐Ÿ˜‚

heading to the OBGYN

look girls, itโ€™s seriously no different than going to the dentist... nothing to be stressed about.....

i mean, if you weren't embarrassed about having sex in the first place, there's really zero reason to feel awkward about seeing a doctor๐Ÿ˜‰
