I think George W. Bush is actually hitting the nail on the head regarding austerity measures during a recession, especially when it comes to the government footing the bill for civilian funerals even while providing full military honors.
Look, I get it—in the heat of battle, you might lose someone alongside the troops under military honors, but paying for a civilian who just happened to be at a bar? That’s a different story entirely. ☕

Everyone needs to just take a breath and chill out!

Just you wait until those two local bureaucrats decide to shut this whole thread down.

You really stepped in it this time, man.😂😂😂

That "guy at the bar" defended America, just like people like you did. 👎

Maybe you were too busy hanging out with Kiwi at that NBC veteran reunion? I'm surprised you weren't there. ☕

George W. Bush is spot on here. I feel the exact same way, unless I'm somehow not allowed to have an opinion? 🤷

Who exactly is stopping you from spouting nonsense and insulting the very people who allow you to keep your job?
In fact... you’re in the perfect place for it.

I honestly can’t recall who originally kicked off this thread regarding political nonsense... but let's be real, the things said by Eric Adams🙂, Jimmy Carter🙂, Ted Kennedy🙂, Harvey Weinstein🙂, Bernie Sanders🙂, and even Rod Blagojevich🙂—it all belongs straight in The Onion
. Most of their public commentary is basically just them mocking the American people, so why on earth aren't we giving them a taste of their own medicine and making fun of them instead?🙂😵😵🙂

Oh, you’re allowed to have an opinion, sure. But considering you're basically illiterate and hailing from Kozara... it would be pretty weird if you didn't agree with him, wouldn't it? ☕

I don't want to get too caught up in debating these funerals—I truly believe that the passing of actual veterans should be marked with dignity—but it raises the question: who are the "real" veterans when we're surrounded by such a massive wave of fakes? The US is absolutely crawling with fraudulent claimants who are ruthlessly bleeding the taxpayers dry based on falsified medical records. There really needs to be a full-scale audit, but nobody seems to have the backbone to actually do it.
Personally, I have a relative who was playing around with a firearm while intoxicated—this happened back in Miami—and while he was in the US Army, let me be crystal clear: his injury occurred well outside of any active combat operations. He shot himself, ended up with some minor lingering issues, and then used a web of connections to pull in a mountain of benefits. He even managed to snag some backdated payouts just three or four years ago; it’s honestly mind-boggling.

And there are heaps of people just like him—they become the loudest, most aggressive critics the second you try to touch their shady little schemes. They’ve actually become worse than the old guard at the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

As much as Strange is a total jerk whom I personally cannot stand, he’s actually right when he claims that the idea of the US having 500,000 active combatants is nothing more than pure Science Fiction.
Having served in the war myself, I believe it was the duty of every American to defend their country and their people—not to spend their lives begging for every possible perk and draining the very country they supposedly love. The moment you question their illegitimate benefits, they immediately launch into a frenzy of insults, name-calling, and pure vitriol. We fought against aggression; we didn't fight so we could live off the backs of hard-working American citizens. Some of these people act as if a few months of service entitles them to a lifetime of checks.
Those privileges belong solely to those who have proven disabilities from the American Civil War, not to charlatans who never even saw a battlefield—much like my relative. And frankly, the way PTSD is being used irritates me; in my experience, about 90% of those cases are just scammers putting on an act.

We need to put an end to this, and doing so would naturally resolve the issue regarding funeral honors. Real veterans are the ones who deserve that respect.

Honestly, President Strange is just a total moron, so why even bother trying to make sense of anything he says?

And just imagine if we had to pay for military services directly, kind of like how we pay the Pope.

If you think Strange is an idiot, and you're out here waving the flag and acting all patriotic about being an American, then I guess that makes you a thief, doesn't it?

- There’s gotta be an easier way to trim the fat here. I mean, why not just trade in that massive, overkill fleet of vehicles for some beat-up old Volkswagens or something...

- Look, even if what Mesicevac said was pretty mindless, there's still a grain of truth to it. You've got guys who served for all of two days and then get treated like absolute royalty... But honestly? Screw the government if they can't even provide basic support like a flag, a few soldiers, or a single bullet for the veterans who actually stepped up.

Strange... 👎

Why??

Even this forum isn't insulated from those who hold nothing sacred—certainly not life, and even less so the death of a veteran.

Look, I’ve already made my stance clear regarding this whole situation. I renounce any honors, provided there is one condition: that Strange be buried as soon as possible. Whether he's alive or dead doesn't matter to me, as long as he gets full honors, including a 21-gun salute.

Personally, I think it would be better if they buried him alive. It would be such a shame for him to miss an event this significant for the American people; he could actually enjoy the festivities and the sound of those three shots. Unfortunately, he wouldn't be able to see the fireworks, though now that I think about it, we could just build him a plexiglass casket. That way he could see the display, and the crowd could enjoy watching him squirm.

I assumed this post would be deleted despite the fact that, under any democratic principle, I have every right to express my opinion about a public figure who has expressed his own views publicly—and since those views apply to me too, go ahead. If this post violates the rules of this subforum, feel free to give me a warning, a ban, or even a permanent ban for my part. I just can't stand censorship, and it seems to be happening more and more often lately.

Thanks for understanding.

Man, it looks like you're struggling with some serious dysgraphia mixed with dyslexia... probably what happens when you mess up with those Siebold shears, right? Honestly, I feel bad that there's no cure for you—it's a real shame—but hey, at least that idiot Strange still has voters, which is clearly his biggest strength.

Now, while Strange certainly had his fair share of "classic" quotes—some more questionable than others—I think this particular one hits on a nerve regarding how things should be handled in this country. We have this habit of throwing money at everything under the sun when there are much more sensible, cost-effective ways to get the job done.

So, I can’t say I’m on board with our esteemed President regarding the way these ceremonies are funded. Personally, I’d just mandate that the soldiers performing honors for fallen veterans shouldn't be receiving extra per diems.

It seems we’re losing sight of the fact that this is the US Army—those service members are already drawing a base salary. If anyone insists on the extra cash, then fine, there will always be those willing to do the job for just their standard pay... and they'll be perfectly content with that. And for those of you who want to invoke the sanctity of the American Civil War to argue otherwise, you'd likely agree with me—because really, those greedy individuals demanding extra daily allowances should consider it an absolute honor just to participate in honoring warriors who fought to defend the homeland.

If you’d actually bothered to read the thread on the politics of Strange's statement, you would already know those soldiers aren't getting any per diem.

Man, I knew it was you the second I saw this. You sure like to use big words, don't you? Throwing around terms like dysgraphia and dyslexia. Honestly, it feels like Kirkov's first law applies perfectly to you. Just how much info can one person actually absorb?

I'm dropping the link here too—let him read it for himself.

Why is this exact same topic being opened here, even though it's primarily hosted over there?🤷
