For the past two months, I’ve been dealing with these headaches. They tend to strike for about four or five days straight, lasting all day, and then they vanish for a few days before returning. On top of that, for the last three months, I’ve noticed an irregular heartbeat, which is why I’m scheduled to wear a Holter monitor in a few days. My back and neck have also been aching, so I initially assumed the headaches were just stemming from those issues. Honestly, I wasn't too worried until I started browsing this forum today. One particular comment really shook me—I think the topic was about tumors. A woman mentioned she had been diagnosed with a malignant tumor requiring surgery, and she described experiencing heart palpitations and moments where her body would go numb from the neck down for a few seconds upon waking. It hit me that I experienced that exact sensation once about a month and a half ago; at the time, I dismissed it as a dream, but clearly, it wasn't. Now I'm spiraling, wondering if it's just my lower back or if it's something much more serious like a tumor. I'm terrified because that specific symptom seems so rare, even though it only happened once. If it were just nausea, I wouldn't be nearly this anxious, since everyone gets that with a headache. I have a doctor's appointment next week. Should I be genuinely concerned?

On top of that, for about three months now, I’ve noticed my pulse feels irregular, so I’m actually heading in to wear a Holter monitor in a couple of days. My back and neck have been aching too, so I honestly thought the headaches were just coming from those issues. I hadn't really let it get to me until I started browsing this forum today. One specific comment really spooked me, though; I think the topic was about tumors. This girl mentioned she was diagnosed with a malignant tumor and had to undergo surgery, which caused her heart to struggle, and sometimes when she woke up, her whole body would go numb from the neck down for a few seconds. It hit me like a ton of bricks because I experienced that exact sensation once about a month and a half ago. At the time, I thought I was just dreaming, but clearly, I wasn't. Now I'm terrified. I kept thinking it was just my spine, but now I’m spiraling into thoughts of a tumor—maybe even a malignant one. It’s scary because that symptom seems so rare, even if it only happened once to me. If it were just nausea or something, I wouldn't be nearly this worried since everyone gets that along with a headache. I have a doctor's appointment next week. Should I be worried?

Look, I don't think anyone here can give you an actual diagnosis. All we can offer are guesses, and honestly, that might just end up making you more anxious. Just hang in there until you talk to your doctor; you'll probably have to run a mountain of tests to get answers. Personally, my neck and back are constantly acting up from sitting at a desk for too long, dealing with spinal issues and muscle damage in my back. I’m even dealing with this mysterious pain at the base of my neck that’s sent me to physical therapy for months now. So, please, try not to jump straight to the worst-case scenario like tumors. It could very well just be your spine acting up. As for the heart stuff, you'll get clarity once you see those Holter results. I know "don't worry" is easier said than done, but please try to stay positive.👍

I’m telling you, I wouldn't have even given it a second thought if I hadn't seen it myself. And frankly, it would be a mistake not to consider the possibility of a tumor when dealing with headaches this intense; I can't just act like it doesn't matter.

On top of that, for about three months now, my heart rhythm feels totally off, so I’m scheduled to wear a Holter monitor in a couple of days. My back and neck have been killing me too, so I honestly assumed the headaches were just stemming from those issues. I hadn't really let it get to me until I started digging through this forum today. One specific comment absolutely terrified me—I think the thread was about tumors. Some girl mentioned she was diagnosed with a malignant tumor and needs surgery, and that her heart rhythm was erratic, leading to moments where she’d wake up feeling completely paralyzed from the neck down for a few seconds. It hit me like a ton of bricks because I actually experienced that exact sensation once about six weeks ago; I thought I was just dreaming, but clearly, I wasn't. Now I'm spiraling, wondering if it's just my spine acting up or if I'm facing something much more sinister like a malignancy. It's the fact that such a specific symptom occurred that scares me—if it were just nausea or vomiting, I wouldn't be nearly this worried since everyone gets that alongside a headache, but this is different. I'm seeing my doctor next week. Should I be panicking...

Don't start spiraling immediately, man; you shouldn't jump straight to the worst-case scenario... seriously, don't go there.
Most likely, those headaches are coming from your cervical spine, though for your own peace of mind, it wouldn't hurt to get a CT scan of your head just to rule everything out...
It’s entirely possible that your vertebrae are putting pressure on something, which could also explain why your heart rhythm feels irregular... I went through something almost identical myself.

I’m starting to suspect my lower back is the culprit, but I can't quite wrap my head around why it's causing this relentless headache for five days straight. Even over-the-counter meds aren't touching the pain. For the first three days, it was just my head, but now the pain is radiating into my neck, so I'm hoping it's all connected. If the doctors confirm it's a spinal issue, is there a chance something else is going on, or will they definitely need to order a CT scan?
