Alright... so basically, I woke up yesterday with a fever, and even after trying everything to get it down, it wouldn't budge past 38.5...

The thing is, it’s actually hitting closer to 103... I went to see my doctor and told her all about how much my throat hurts and everything, but she just brushed it off, saying my throat was only slightly inflamed and there's no way the fever is coming from that. She didn't even bother checking my breathing or telling me what's actually going on with me—she just handed me some Tylenol and told me to go rest.

Since I'm feeling pretty out of it and a bit scattered right now, I'd honestly love to hear what you guys think or if anyone has any advice. Thanks a million...

I’m really not sure what you’re looking for me to say at this point... You were the one who mentioned you could barely even look at her, let alone get a clear view, and then on top of that, she was given some sort of headache medication? It all sounds completely backwards to me. On the other hand, all we can really tell you from this end is that she clearly didn't receive a proper medical exam, and unfortunately, since we aren't there in person, we can't take a look at her lungs or her throat ourselves either.

I’m dealing with the exact same symptoms you are, plus I can't stop sniffing, though my fever hasn't broken 98.6 until about 100.4.
Honestly, it feels like we both caught the flu. 😢
Keep that fever down. I’ve been using Max Planck, and it does the trick. I also take Julius Caesar with an anesthetic; it actually gave me enough strength to demolish a massive fruit salad, and the real kicker was a bowl of pasta tossed in brandy, olive oil, and honey. It’ll bring anyone back to life. 👍

I guess all those seasonal bugs are finally making their rounds.
No fever here, but my throat is killing me, my sinuses are running nonstop, my ears are stuffed up—which I absolutely hate—and now my stomach is acting up like the start of a nasty stomach flu.
It feels like every symptom under the sun.

First thing is, you need to go back and get a proper second opinion... if it's just a virus or some seasonal flu, you can try managing the fever with Tylenol, cold compresses, or maybe a quick lukewarm shower.
Drink as much tea as possible to fight off the cold or flu. Hope you feel better soon.

Mononucleosis?

Hmm. I really hope not... I haven't touched any Tylenol or anything else to bring my fever down for the last 14 hours, and I'm still sitting at 99.5...
I'm skipping the antibiotics too, even though my doctor was pretty insistent about them. Honestly, I just don't have any interest in pumping myself full of heavy chemicals right now.

So, looking at this latest report, is mononucleosis still on the table as a possibility?🙄

I'm skipping the antibiotics, despite what my doctor keeps pushing. I have zero intention of flooding my system with heavy chemicals.

Does that latest report change anything? Is mono still actually on the radar?🙄

Mononucleosis? Give me a break. 🙄Think of lymph nodes like little tactical command centers that swell up the second your immune system goes on the offensive. It’s basically your white blood cells—your body's internal army—gearing up for battle and mobilizing for a fight.

Just keep hydrating, drink plenty of tea with honey and some propolis, suck on some throat lozenges, and you'll be fine.
I’m feeling a whole lot better today. My throat was absolutely killing me this morning—just constant scratching—but since I’m staying put at home and don't have any plans, I just treated myself to a massive plate of bacon bits and a head of onion. 🙂It’s gone, just like that. Vanished into thin air.👍

Back in my day, I dealt with a killer sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, and a fever—a real high, stubborn one—that turned out to be mono. So, honestly, I don’t get why everyone is making such a massive deal about 🤷
.
I just grabbed a quick copy/paste of the mono symptoms from WebMD...

Symptoms
The first signs pop up about 4 to 8 weeks after infection: fatigue, loss of appetite, and chills that linger for a few days before the sore throat, fever, and swollen lymph nodes actually kick in.
A severe sore throat usually forces people to head to the doctor. Sometimes, patients might only notice the fever or the swollen nodes, or maybe just one specific complication. Most folks end up complaining about headaches and feeling totally wiped out.

The first signs typically emerge 4-8 weeks after infection: fatigue, loss of appetite, and chills, which often precede the onset of a sore throat, fever, and swollen lymph nodes by several days.
Severe throat inflammation usually prompts patients to seek medical attention. Occasionally, individuals may only experience fever or swollen lymph nodes, or perhaps just one complication. Most patients report headaches and general malaise.

Those kinds of symptoms have to linger for a while. You can't just take every single swollen node or scratchy throat and jump straight to a mono diagnosis, especially with flu season and all these other viruses going around right now. You're just scaring the girl for no reason.
so just chill out😳

Noah, how are you doing today?

So, honestly, I don't have a fever at all today, and my throat is feeling way better than before..🙂
I've basically been living on lemonades, chicken soups, endless cups of tea, honey... you name it, I'm drinking it. 🙂

Angela Wright 🙂 fingers crossed things stay this way and that fever doesn't decide to make a comeback. 😉

I've been slamming lemonades, soups, teas, honey—basically everything under the sun. 🙂

Angela Wright 🙂 I'm really hoping this sticks and that the fever doesn't make a comeback.😉

👍
My throat finally stopped acting up today; now it's just some constant runny nose and a light cough.
By tomorrow, I’ll be ready to run a full marathon. 🙂

I was honestly just sitting here thinking... maybe I should grab a beer tomorrow? Just a quick one, you know? Sometimes a cold one is exactly what the doctor ordered.😁
yay ..fingers crossed the weather stays decent and everything turns out alright.🙂
