I’m just curious, from a psychological standpoint, what do you all think

About why people on LES—and online in general—feel this urge to post photos of their private parts?

What is the actual goal there?

Is it a lack of self-confidence, where they're basically hunting for external validation just to feel okay?

Or maybe it's a deeper loss of self-respect, driven by the influx of Western values and this whole "death culture" we see today...

I mean, I truly wonder... why does a young woman feel the need to put her breasts on the internet just to be judged by strangers?

While we are on the subject, from a purely psychological standpoint, I find myself wondering why such a thing would bother a young man... I mean, what is actually wrong with him? 🥳

Physicality—breasts, butts, the whole nine yards—carries an inherent sexual connotation, and sex is how new life begins.
It isn't like children just appear out of thin air.

Beyond mere sexual function, there is the aesthetic element. The human body, particularly when it's young and fit, is beautiful. If someone possesses what they consider a beautiful physique, why shouldn't they show it off if they feel like it? Is there some reason to be ashamed of one's own body? To hide it away?
Is the body itself inherently immoral?
Not at all. Immorality exists only in the minds of those watching.

And you—don't act like you haven't looked. You certainly have. Otherwise, how would you even know they were there? In a way, you’re a participant in that entire interaction. Nobody would bother showing their body if there wasn't an audience interested in looking. 😉

Young women have all sorts of motivations for putting their bodies online. Where does this idea come from—that there’s only one or two simple reasons behind it?

For instance, some people just want to show off, like a "look at me" moment, while others find a certain thrill in playing with social taboos. We live in such a paradoxical culture in the US; on one hand, there's this obsession with physical perfection, yet on the other, people claim that body image is shallow and irrelevant. If it were actually irrelevant, it wouldn't dominate our media coverage, and plastic surgeons wouldn't be among the most successful professionals in the country today.

Look, under the guise of "why should I be ashamed of my body," Brian Banks is out there filming adult films. To me, that logic feels a bit thin...

I mean, if people are going to brag about something, why not boast about actual substance? Like hard work or genuine achievements. I always thought women were supposed to be empowered, yet suddenly there's this trend of stepping back into being mere sexual objects just to sell a persona.

It just doesn't sit right with me.

I'm not saying I have an issue with seeing it—not at all, I don't mind. I'm just asking... what do you all think the real motivation is behind it all?

Unlike women who aren't empowered, an empowered woman shows off her body if she wants to, whenever she feels like it, and however much she chooses. Empowerment is about having the right to choose. So, they can say, "we aren't just sexual objects, but if we want to be, we will—on our own terms and for as long as we please." To me, that sounds pretty empowered.

Besides, looking at LES, I see guys showing off their assets all the time. What's their deal?

It’s a win-win situation, really. You have the audience getting their fix, she’s raking in the revenue, and everyone walks away satisfied. It's a perfect cycle of supply and demand. 🤷

I suppose what I’m trying to get at is... it’s just profoundly sad. We live in an era where people are willing to trade away absolutely anything they can get a price for. They’ll auction off their own privacy, their very sense of dignity... everything.

All just so someone, somewhere, might offer a hollow "wow, you're so great."

If that’s the only thing capable of brightening a person's day, then we really are in trouble.
