Greetings. Over on the politics and related subforum, I started a discussion titled "Would we be better off now than we were back then?" where I was essentially asking everyone how our lives might look today if the war in America had never happened. Specifically, would our standard of living be higher?
My thread was deleted without any sort of notice. I'm honestly at a loss as to why.

Honestly, this discussion is pretty poorly organized, especially since we've covered this exact topic several times already over in the politics and related subforums.

Do me a favor and take a look at what’s already been posted on the boards so you're up to speed.
If you feel like there's a specific angle we haven't touched on yet, go ahead and make the case for it.
Same goes if you're scrolling through a thread and realize your perspective hasn't been voiced—just jump in and lay it out.

If you don't mind my asking, what exactly makes the placement so poor? It seems like a fairly straightforward question to me—is there some sort of underlying issue I'm missing? I often find myself wondering how much our lives would have changed if we weren't dealing with the fallout of this war. By the way, could you point me toward the specific thread where this discussion took place?

Honestly, asking "what if" about everything that’s gone down feels less like actual political analysis and more like stepping into the world of fantastika.
But just to give you a concrete example, think about Pararelna history—like imagining the US as a socialist nation back in 2011.
There are plenty of ways to play that game.

The problem is, these kinds of "what if" conversations almost always devolve into these intense, ideological battles.
One side clings to their version of reality, the other clings to theirs, and suddenly, nobody can even respect someone else's right to have an opinion without it turning into a fight.
