Is it just me, or is the psychological toll of a single "blow-up" performance way harder to deal with than a standard loss?

I’ve been following my team for years, and it’s always frustrating when a player is on a massive hot streak—looking like they've finally found their rhythm or regained their value—only to have one outing completely derail everything. It’s not just about the scoreboard; it's the feeling that all that hard work and "climbing back up" just evaporated in a single afternoon.

Then you have those moments where the energy just visibly drains from the dugout because things are going sideways so fast. It feels like once that momentum shifts, you're just watching a slow-motion car crash. It makes me wonder if players struggle more with the immediate loss or the realization that their reputation just took a massive hit.

Does anyone else feel like certain games are just "momentum killers" that set a team back much further than the actual standings suggest?
