So, I’m thinking about picking up a wheel for my PC setup—got my eye on that Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel... saw it sitting around $267... so now I'm wondering, is it actually any good or just hype? Is it worth the cash? Also, what's the deal with the shifter—is it a standard H-pattern thing or what? If anyone's got a better suggestion in that same ballpark, let me know... I really need an H-pattern shifter for my setup.

I can't speak to the gearbox specifically, but if you actually bother to search for a decent review online, you'll find that info easily. And I’m telling you, do your homework now so you don't end up pissed off later... It's an open secret that companies peddle steering wheels, joysticks, tablets, and all kinds of "wannabe" gear that's practically useless once you get it home. If you want brands you can actually trust blindly when it comes to functionality, stick with Logitech or Genius... anything else is a gamble unless you're 100% sure it actually does what it claims to do. $267It's a big deal...

Just type the model name into Google followed by "review" or "test"...

I'm honestly torn between this one and the Logitech G25... but man, that thing is pricey... like, $1,300 territory... meanwhile everyone seems to be raving about this wheel. I guess I'm just wondering about the type of shifter it uses... how would a review even describe that part?

It says right here that it’s sequential, not an "H-pattern" shifter. It just goes forward and back...

So, it says right here that it's sequential rather than an actual "H-pattern shifter"—meaning just up and down shifts...

Yeah, I actually checked it out on YouTube... what a bummer. Guess I'll have to let go of my old G25 then. I wonder if this thing is even built well enough to last? You know, long-term? I saw the price tag was $433... might just have to hunt for a used one...

Even if it’s a bit dated, it’s still a solid wheel. A buddy of mine has had his for over three years, though the force feedback finally gave out recently (which doesn't really matter much to me personally)...

For instance, I'm using a Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel, which is more of an entry-level setup for $100... the steering actually quit on me after about ten months (well within the one-year 😁 warranty period). This current one has lasted me exactly a year now. There's definitely a massive difference between wheels at such different price points, especially when it comes to how the driving actually feels 😉

Like, I'm rocking the Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel for $100... once, the steering just gave up on me after ten months (well within the one-year warranty 😁), and this current one's been holding up for exactly a year now. There's a massive difference when you're looking at wheels in such different price brackets—especially when it comes to how the driving actually feels 😉

Anyway, thanks a ton... found it on eBay for $167... we'll see how it goes. All I really care about is having an H-pattern shifter with a clutch... that's pretty much it. It's not even that deep, I just want it

Something isn't clicking for me here—is it actually possible that this steering wheel is still $833?? I stumbled across a listing for a new one earlier today and it was sitting at $1,300... but now, everywhere I look, the price tag is hovering around $2,500?? Like, seriously, what does that even make the G27?
