Which sound card should I get?

Hey. I'm on the hunt for a decent sound card, but I don't want to get ripped off again. I've heard people talking up the Asus Sonar series—DX, DG, DS—and some Creative Labs stuff too... just a bunch of options floating around. Which ones actually hold up? Anyone here running something specific? Mainly looking for something that kills it for gaming but doesn't suck for music either. I'm rocking some Bose QuietComfort headphones and a Logitech X530 setup. Thanks.

Creative Sound Blaster Z... or maybe go with a D1 if you think the DX is a bit too pricey for your budget. Just a heads-up though—if you’re planning on plugging your headphones directly into those front panel jacks on your case, you’re going to have to reroute that front audio header from the motherboard straight to the card itself.
