Why was the "What to expect this fall" thread deleted?

The moderators over at the Economy sub decided to kill off that thread I mentioned above.
Why though?
What’s the big deal?
Is it because people are talking too much and being too damn free with their opinions?
That whole topic was gold specifically because everyone had such wildly different takes and comments flying around.
I don't get why you'd go and shut down the most active, most read thread on the board.

this is just pro-Kremlin rambling designed to stir up panic.
Fall is already here, and all those doomsday predictions turned out to be nothing more than the fever dreams of some guy obsessed with Putin.

Great topic, really... especially since all those high-quality, insightful analyses were wiped by the mods without even a single explanation. When they start censoring like that and eventually locking a thread, doesn't it just prove the posts were spot on?
It reminds me of that old saying: the more you push us down, the stronger we get.

I've gone ahead and locked this thread because the constant bickering and back-and-forth fighting was getting out of hand. We'll look into reopening it once things have been tidied up a bit and/or the heat dies down, so we'll just have to see how it goes.
