Hey everyone, I’m running into a bit of a headache with my internet—it works perfectly fine when I’m plugged directly into the router via Ethernet, but the wireless side of things is just being difficult. The networks show up on my device just like they should, but every time I try to actually connect, I get hit with an error saying it’s impossible. I have a hunch there’s some weird setting buried somewhere in the configuration that's tripping things up, but honestly, I haven't the slightest clue where to start looking. If anyone here knows their way around this kind of stuff, I would really appreciate a hand. 🙂

So, what gives? I can't get a connection through my phone either, which feels a bit off to me... especially since this laptop used to connect to other routers without any drama. When I try to link up, it asks for the password just like it should—I type it in, everything seems fine—but then Windows just hits me with that "Windows was unable to connect to..." error message. I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron here.

Find the reset button on the router, poke it with a needle until it resets, then just hang out for a minute or two while the system boots back up. Plug it in with a cable, mess with the settings, and try the Wi-Fi again. ☕

What kind of router are you running, and which ISP are you using?

And I'm not even in the States—my router is an AT&T one... though I doubt that actually matters. A router is a router, right? 🤷 They all basically do the exact same thing, at least that’s my take on it

Are you actually on this network?

If you are, try plugging directly into the router with an Ethernet cable and following the steps outlined above. It is entirely possible your router has simply lost its mind and needs a reset...
