Windows 7 WiFi issues

A buddy of mine is dealing with a real headache on his laptop. He’s running Windows 7, and for some reason, he just can't get onto any wireless networks. He keeps getting hit with that annoying "No connections are available" message. I took a look under the hood in the Device manager, and sure enough, there's an Unknown Device sitting right there under Other devices. I tried hitting the "search automatically for updated driver software" option, but Windows just gives me the runaround saying it can't find any drivers for that specific device.

Any idea how to fix this mess?

Everything under Network adapters shows that all the drivers are installed and good to go. Has anyone else run into a similar headache?

I'd suggest heading into the Control Panel and using the "Add or Remove Programs" tool to completely uninstall your current WiFi drivers—once that's done, give your laptop a quick restart. After it's back up, just hop onto the manufacturer's website to grab the latest WiFi drivers specifically for Windows 7, then go ahead and reinstall them...

It’s likely just a missing Bluetooth driver, given they’re sharing the same antenna setup.
You really ought to head over to the manufacturer's website and grab the specific drivers designed for this hardware.
