Windows Vista or Windows 7?

Hey. I’m thinking about giving Vista a shot, but I also want to check out Windows 7. Should I just jump straight to a specific version that’s actually decent, or should I mess around with both first? Thanks

Windows 7 Ultimate. Go with either 32 or 64-bit, depending on what your hardware can actually handle.

Same here, I went straight for Windows 7. As soon as I picked up my new rig, I said goodbye to everything older than version seven (though I did suffer through everything from Windows 98 all the way up to Windows 7, and honestly, Windows 7 was the clear winner).

Go ahead and grab Windows 7... Honestly, it's the best version out there.🙂

Do not download Windows 7 until:

1. You find all the drivers specifically made for Windows 7 for your computer. The original ones on the CD
you got with your motherboard WILL NOT WORK.

2. Once you have found them, put them all on a USB drive and ONLY THEN SHOULD YOU WIPE YOUR CURRENT SYSTEM AND INSTALL SEVEN.

What on earth is constantly eating up my disk usage?
Why won't DScaler work in overlay mode on my second monitor?

Looks like this question turned into a massive argument already. Listen, silverviper6, you clearly think you’re preaching to the choir here, but trust me, I’m not some idiot who doesn't know how to download drivers. Even a toddler could figure out how to grab a specific driver for Windows 7. This whole thing is just a perfect example of how you probably think you've got us all figured out... we'll see about that 😉 So don't go acting like you're smarter than everyone else on this board, because I seriously doubt it. Why? Because these guys have bailed me out of trouble at least ten times. And I mean BIG problems. You just showed up. For starters, why don't you actually answer the question I asked you over in the Windows 7 thread?

P.S.—if I were in your shoes, I'd be venting my frustrations to the people on Reddit 😉

but everyone wants to be included, unless they're some kind of live components

Well... take TV tuner cards, for instance...

You end up with... nothing, really. Just try finding drivers for a Wayjet WT-952. It uses a damn saa7133 chip.
DScaler is a decent workaround, but as I’ve already asked a few posts back... the overlay won't work on my second monitor.

@Matthew Young35/">@@Matthew Young35 I checked for drivers and there’s basically nothing worth downloading on their official sites. But I did some digging into that overlay issue, and man, tons of people are dealing with this... It isn't even a driver thing, it's just a bug with the 🙂
software itself.
