Hello. If this needs to be moved to a more appropriate subforum, feel free to do so. I didn't see any specific discussions regarding banking, so I figured I would drop this under Economics.
Here is the situation. Back in 2013, while working in Germany, I was required to open an account at Chase to receive my salary. A significant amount of time has passed since then, and I am now expecting a tax refund, but I am currently preparing to head to the USA for work.
I recall that two years ago, when I last attempted to withdraw cash from a Raiffeisen Bank ATM, they absolutely fleeced me with fees totaling nearly $1,100$167 because they were using a conversion rate of roughly 7.2.
Now, I want to know if anyone knows of a better way to withdraw funds—somewhere that won't rip me off so badly—or if it is even possible to go directly to a teller to withdraw the full amount.
To be clear, we are talking about Deutsche Bank.
Cheers.
