It’s wild how much trauma a single appointment can cause, especially when you factor in the needles and the noise of the drills. I honestly can't stand seeing kids cry in the waiting room, but at the same time, I know how much work goes into those traditional procedures to make sure things are done right.
Lately, I've been thinking about the trade-offs we make in medicine and daily care. There’s always this tension between "the gold standard" that takes forever and is super invasive, versus these newer, faster ways to just halt a problem in its tracks. Sometimes a quick solution is a godsend, but other times you wonder if you're just masking a symptom or if the aesthetic trade-off is worth it in the long run.
