Xbox Wireless Controller

So, I finally picked up this new Xbox Wireless Controller today!

I actually have just one quick question for you guys.

It comes with this specific cable included in the box.

I’m mostly asking just to be informed, but how exactly am I supposed to connect the controller using this cable? I’ve been looking all over, but I honestly can't find a port where I can plug this in. Since the end of the cable is a female connector, I was expecting to find a male port on the controller itself, but it's nowhere to be found—even after I popped off the battery cover to take a look. I even tried doing a little digging on Google, but I couldn't find a clear answer anywhere. I'm mainly thinking ahead in case my batteries die mid-game and I don't have any spares on hand; I was hoping I could just plug it into a USB port and keep playing.

At the end of a USB Range Extender, you’ve still got a wireless receiver—basically just that tiny little dongle you're already used to. You really only need a Range Extender if, say, some electrical interference coming off your PC's power supply starts messing with the dongle's signal; in that case, you just plug in the Range Extender to move the receiver far enough away from the hardware to clear up the noise.

Yeah, look—the whole point of that cable is just to get the receiver away from all the other electronic junk—like power supplies, monitors, speakers, and whatever else—that might mess with the USB dongle's signal...
