Ever since that forum troll (Gerald Chavez7—mind you, I didn't say "troll" 🙄) Wobbie migrated to other subforums, there’s nothing left to sustain this place.

I trust you'll understand the situation. Thanks in advance for the help. 🙏

I’ll be opening up a new thread about masks in a couple of days—but just a heads-up, on any conspiracy theory threads, I’m going to be handing out sanctions and performing some disgusting post deletions if people start being abusive. Honestly, I can't wrap my head around how anyone manages to troll so aggressively on a topic like this 🤷

It was just a joke.
To be honest, you did the right thing by stepping in on this mask debate—the bickering had gotten out of hand and was starting to grate on my nerves too.

The problem now is that the arguing has migrated over to the conspiracy theorists. That’s where the Wobbie lives now—acting like a teenager who just needs to have the last word at all costs.😁

Looking at it objectively, it's basically a form of trolling. It's like if someone jumped into an Apple discussion board just to trash the brand while praising Huawei or some other manufacturer instead.
Or imagine someone browsing a travel guide for San Diego and constantly insisting San Diego sucks while Savannah is the place to be.
Or a thread dedicated to LGBTQ+ discussions where someone shows up just to dump nothing but negativity on the community.

Logic tells me that a forum for conspiracy theorists is naturally meant for people who view the world through that lens.
Sure, there’s room for opposing views and healthy debate, but when you get one "know-it-all" who isn't looking for constructive conversation but just wants to argue for the sake of it—someone who feels the need to contradict every single post—then it crosses the line into trolling and spamming.
Like they say back home in the country, "too much of a good thing is never good."

The "Mask Mandates: Yes or No" thread is a bit different because the title itself invites conflicting opinions, so polarization and heated debates are almost guaranteed. But as I said, it was good to de-escalate things. It was getting too intense.

Gerald Chavez7, look, I know you're probably off enjoying some downtime, but seriously—open this thread up! You’re a great mod, really, I mean it, but you've been keeping this awesome discussion under lock and key for way too long.

Just because someone isn't wearing them doesn't mean they're a hoax—they still serve a purpose in slowing down droplet infections. I don't see the pseudologics in that.

The topic is still locked, while apparently the moderator in question is busy posting stuff like this over in the Coronavirus subforum, under the Memes thread—I guess he’s the only one who finds it funny:

On top of that, not a single unbiased admin has stepped up. I actually got a few DMs from both a moderator and an admin saying they agree with my complaint, but they don't want to get involved because they want to "keep the peace"...

Just a final note—I don't have anything against Gerald Chavez7 personally, it's just the way things are being moderated. I wouldn't complain about any other mod, either. And I'm definitely not the only one feeling this way, which you can see in that disgusting post deletion thread mentioned earlier.

Alright, stop making things up! I am the only admin on this entire forum (besides Anderson, who I know for a fact didn't send you anything like that since he's gone on record multiple times agreeing with how z_k handles moderation), and I definitely never said anything like that to you. And none of the moderators handling the Corona PDFs sent you those messages either. Honestly, it's just a bunch of nonsense—please, just stop.
